Value Added Services: Transcontinental Adds New Functionality to Job Assistant
The Job Assistant, our web-based, self-service job management and tracking tool, just got better. We upgraded several existing features to help you drive further efficiencies in today’s collaborative workflow environment. The Job Assistant enables quick editing and proofing cycles as well as ensuring accurate, predictable results. It’s perfect for organizations with a high volume of projects that can benefit from a customized, automation-rich workflow system. But The Job Assistant also benefits occasional users because of its user-friendly, easy to remember interface.

- Faster approval process involving multiple reviewers
- Customizable email notifications that inform all team members of tasks relevant to their individual areas of responsibility

- Powerful, time saving history reporting and searching capabilities

In addition to improvements in the Basic Package, we also created a Premium Package with even greater functionality and benefits. Here is what the Job Assistant will be offering.
The Job Assistant Basic Package
All users will automatically receive the upgrades upon the projected launch date of [insert date].
- New User Interface. The new look is designed to enhance performance, flexibility and ease of use. Among the most significant changes is a powerful new version of the Smart Review proofing client, which offers easy verification and review of pages as well as suggested edits.
- More Control. An event-based email notification system enables you to include users only in activities pertinent to their roles in the job process. So if a user only needs to know about upload activity, for example, their email won’t be loaded with irrelevant notifications.
- Better Preview Options. You can now more easily group pages and preview new pages.
- Greater Speed and Intuitiveness. The latest version is flat out faster and more intuitive. You’ll notice the changes in a lot of different ways including an Enhanced Search feature, which provides several options for quickly locating all work in progress.
The Job Assistant Premium Package
In addition to all of the features and functionality of the Basic Version, Premium Package subscribers will receive three important bundled features. Please consult your Transcontinental Printing representative for subscription details.
- Smart Review Premium. This provides a compare function that allows side-by-side review of two pages along with a third view that indicates differences between the two. Differences can be displayed in a variety of ways and includes the ability to zoom in for greater detail. It quickly removes any doubt about what’s changed from one review to the next, streamlining the version control and approval process.
- Virtual Vue. You can forget paper mockups and folding dummies with these 3D renderings generated directly from a plate-ready file with all positioning in place. Reduce time to press by further streamlining your workflow and eliminating costly, time-consuming paper versions. You and your colleagues can validate layouts and give approvals from the convenience of your desktops. You can also share the final 3D renderings with your colleagues or distribute them to the sales team prior to releasing the print version.
- Virtual Edge Proofing. Proof changes and final files online with this SWOP-certified, color-matching workflow. You can significantly reduce cycle time and costs with this cutting edge proofing capability. Requires approved color monitor and calibration software investments as well as installation at your facility by a Transcontinental technician.
